What data is collected
This site collects the minimum required to operate, and only the data you choose to send us:
- Contact form — name, email, subject and message.
- Newsletter — email address and language, managed by Mailchimp (Intuit, United States). Subscription confirmed by email (double opt-in); one-click unsubscribe in every mailing.
- Orders and donations — name, postal address (for physical shipping), and payment data handled directly by our providers (Stripe, PayPal) — we never store a card number.
- Free books, audio and sheet music — your first name, and your email if you choose to give it, so Philippe knows who reads him and can thank you one day.
- Chat assistant — the content of messages exchanged with the site's chat, so that we can reply to you.
- Technical server logs — IP address, timestamp, page visited (security and diagnostics, kept briefly).
Cookies
This site uses cookies it needs to work: cart, access to the books, remembering your cookie choice. Only with your consent, it also uses the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel to measure how well our ads perform: Meta then receives information about your visit (pages viewed, browser identifier), including in the United States. Without your consent, nothing is sent to Meta, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. We use neither Google Analytics nor any equivalent. A cookie-free analytics tool (Umami), hosted on our own server, counts page views and the country a visit comes from: no data is passed to any third party, and you are not tracked from site to site.
Embedded videos use YouTube's enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which sets no cookie until you start playback.
Why and for how long
Your data is used only to answer your request, process your order or donation, or send you the newsletter if you subscribed. It is kept for as long as those purposes require, or longer where a legal obligation applies (Swiss accounting rules: 10 years for records relating to donations and orders).
Who has access to your data
Your data is never sold or rented. It may be shared with our technical providers, only as far as their service requires: hosting (European Union), payment (Stripe, PayPal), shipping (Swiss Post), Mailchimp (newsletter). If you accept marketing cookies, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives browsing data to measure our ads.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Data Protection Act (FADP) and, for our European visitors, the GDPR, you may at any time request access to, correction of or deletion of your data, or unsubscribe from the newsletter. Simply write to contact@decourroux.ch.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
